Gulf Oil

The Gulf Oil Disaster has reached day 44. I took a little time (1.5hrs) to paint about it, because I can't quite find the words to describe how very concerned I am about the sheer scope of the damage done.

good looking painting...I agree...
this stuff is very hard for me to look at or think about....
I only hope this squashes future attempts at this kind of drilling on our shores, and that BP, pays dearly for their stupidity and ineffectiveness.

I know what you mean... It feels like the damage is already so huge that we can't even comprehend it yet. And its -still- going!

Well, anyway.. before getting all depressed again, I wanted to add that I'm enjoying the loose style of this drawing. It echoes the utter uncertainty of what really lies ahead in these relatively early days of catastrophe.
