Gallery 1988 Melrose: "Please Post Bills" Show

"Captain Steve Zissou"
13x19" Pencil, white charcoal and pastel on paper / www.ericbraddock.com

Here's my submission for the "Please Post Bills" Show at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles.

I originally was going to go with the Ghostbusters theme since my piece sold pretty fast at the show last time but I decided to try something different and get out of my comfort zone. The reason this is outside of my comfort zone is because I never saw The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou but know that the film has a huge cult following and people seem to really enjoy it. It was also a lot of fun drawing Bill Murray at an older age versus how young he was in Ghostbusters. I'm pretty happy with the result, I wanted to do a larger piece full of Bill Murray portraits arranged in a typical movie poster montage, but time ran short because of current projects.

i just want to curse all over this "comment" it's so good Eric. porthole icon is a fabulous touch, and the lighting is extraordinary. knowing when to have detail and when to stop is nothing short of my favorite aspects of Toulouse-Lautrec

Peter- Haha! Thanks so much, man! You always flatter me with your comments on my G1988 work, I'm glad you dig it so much :) I had fun with it, I hope it does well at the show.
