New Work: Tipped-Out

It's been awhile since I posted anything. Anyway, here is a piece I did for an article in issue #2 of McJawn having to do with the types of people you have to serve while working in a restaurant (cranky old-people, business type, etc.). The piece itself is 8x10, acrylic on watercolor paper. Which is pretty small in retrospect, I think in the future I am just going to work bigger.

The concept behind the composition is based on having to mentally organize all your clientele. Whether you're trying to figure out if they're gonna tip well, ignore your hospitality or if you are trying to remember your tables. Hopefully if you've ever served tables or worked at a restaurant then this resonates with you to a certain degree. If not, then hopefully you think its pretty. The article gets published in early-mid February, so check it out.

3 Reasons why this piece is awesome:

1. Great Character Design (love those noses)
2. Well thought layout
3. Beautifully intertwined color combinations.

How long has McJawn been around and is it a Uarts alumni mag? Just wondering cause it looks Jawsome!

Thank you.
McJawn is an online publication with Philadelphia roots. A majority of the content highlights Philly-centric topics, but is not limited to them. They put out an issue in November. A couple of the staff/contributors are Uarts alum/students, but its not affiliated with the school itself.

Awesome, man! Glad to see you posting. I really like the composition of this piece and the color palette is really nice too.
