Pattern Design

Hey guys I know you've all been posting for the 8bit show alot, but here's something completely unrelated. I just finished this new pattern for mcjawn.com's blog. I had alot of fun with this one.
I painted two images then digitally combined it so it would grid smoothly.

Here's a screen shot of it on the site = ).

New Work: Tipped-Out

It's been awhile since I posted anything. Anyway, here is a piece I did for an article in issue #2 of McJawn having to do with the types of people you have to serve while working in a restaurant (cranky old-people, business type, etc.). The piece itself is 8x10, acrylic on watercolor paper. Which is pretty small in retrospect, I think in the future I am just going to work bigger.

The concept behind the composition is based on having to mentally organize all your clientele. Whether you're trying to figure out if they're gonna tip well, ignore your hospitality or if you are trying to remember your tables. Hopefully if you've ever served tables or worked at a restaurant then this resonates with you to a certain degree. If not, then hopefully you think its pretty. The article gets published in early-mid February, so check it out.
