Technology is Racing.

Hey dudes! So, here is my recently wrapped up contribution to the Triple G show. I always liked that there was a certain amount of scientific experimentation and innovation in each of the movies (I know, I know, it's Gremlins 2, but....) which ends up usually mis-firing, but eventually turns the tables on the baddies.

I really enjoy making piece specific repeat patterns, and so attached is the detail of the wallpaper-esque patterns in the background of each part...

Without You

Along with redoing my website again, I've been working on this painting for an art contest for the past month. The contest is based on the 7 deadly sins. The one I chose as a theme is lust. The quote is based on a song by a portuguese singer. Hope yall like it.

"el condor pasa"

It's strange how much music and painting can be connected to me sometimes. I find that I get much inspiration for my work from songs i listen to on my itunes.

This new painting i just completed is inspired by the simon and garfunkel song "el condor pasa." here's the song below.

keeping busy

I haven't been such a diligent blogger in the past month due to the amount of work I've been trying to get done for my solo show with TrickGo Clothing, which will be on December 11th.

I hand cut and painted these letters to make a customized sign for the window of the gallery at 12th and Pine. Below are some pieces I will have for sale at the opening.

This little guy below is a new diy munny I will be painting. The purple is just the base coat.

This is the t shirt design that I did for the show, which will be printed on v neck american apparel shirts in the same warm grey color as the background.

I will post the official flyer for the show when it's ready.

Queen of the Dead

Here's my entry for the show. When researching the holiday, the idea of doing a portrait of the goddess Mictecacihuatl seemed fun. To the Aztec people she was the queen of the underworld, and oversees what has now become the modern Dia de los Muertos festivities.

Pattern Design

Hey guys I know you've all been posting for the 8bit show alot, but here's something completely unrelated. I just finished this new pattern for mcjawn.com's blog. I had alot of fun with this one.
I painted two images then digitally combined it so it would grid smoothly.

Here's a screen shot of it on the site = ).
