This is an absolutely fantastic short that tells the tale of the Monkey King (Journey to the West)...and sadly it turns out to be a commercial for the Olympics! Jaime Hewlett (Tank Girl / Gorillaz) was in charge behind this one. That guy should really make entire features like this. For now enjoy this great short gem. Thanks Eamon for the tip!

THAT'S SO AMAZINGLY SWEET! I love the style, gorillaz shorts/videos have always been a favorite of mine! I keep trying to find out what studio is in charge of them. Ah man, Journey to the West!!! (is overall in a state of awe)
Jaime Hewlett is responsible for them,at least in terms of character designs and overall concept, and possiby direction. I dunno if you knew that already. I dont know what studio animated it.Also, this is great.
Should of known it was him! It's fantastic! He needs to make entire feature films!
for real- he should really swoop in and save animated feature films from a future of poorly executed pixar wanna-bes.
p.s. does anyone else think that tank girl would have a been a million times better if it had been entirely animated, and by him??
