Lunar Moth
Hi guys. Here's a quick spot experiment I did from a pencil drawing. It's of a lunar moth, and the above symbol is from a Mayan carving for the moon (so, an all around moon piece). I tried to limit myself on time and simplify the process a lot to see what the results would be. I'm pretty pleased with the results and glad that you can see the texture of the pencil and the paper. What do you guys think?

looks like it would make a good postcard for sure.

It gives it a differnt quality to your work. I really like it and I think you should try a few more to see if this is something you want to pursue further.
yes, this has a nice feel to it. I would like to see thi sstyle applied to figure-work and other surfaces. If you like working this way and can do it quickly, its is definitely worth exploring.
best one yet!
More! This is great!
You should maybe pick other mayan symbols that interest you and interpret them as well. I really like where this is going....it could be an ongoing series or gallery even of Mayan based themes & symbols!
oops, deleted my comment for some reason, but aaaanyways...
This is great, the softness of the color makes it look like its glowing from behind the pencils. Nice!
