Little Nemo, le fin

red pencil and digital, 10x14.75"
.
Hi guys. This is the final for one of the commissions that I got out of the Baltimore Con. I posted the sketch earlier and hope that you guys, and the client, dig the piece. I tried to do it a little differently than other pieces and don't know if those tricks'll stick through to other pieces, but there are parts of the piece that I really like. We'll see how it plays out. Later

ps- autumn sketches to come...

Whoa solid palette man!! I've gotta say your work is great, I'm digging the pencil showing through in your paintings.

Im liking the colors a lot, very nicely applied and the palette works. The oh so subtle texture is good too. I think the hand that is on the elk is a little strange, and the face on
the standing little Nemo looks like an older boy's face on a small body to me. His face was so child like, almost cherub like, in McCay's strips, I think it should be a little cuter maybe, but not necessarily cartoony. More like the bottom face maybe?
