Christmas Gifts: Artworks

So it's Christmas Eve and I just finished another painting. This week I did a couple paintings for my siblings since I am currently pressed for money. Things are tight, and when things are tight, you create things instead of purchasing something :)

Or at least.. that's my logic.

My brother is a big video game nerd like I am, so what could be better than painting a picture of the Master Sword from Legend of Zelda? ;) I almost wish I painted this for myself.. but I guess that's a good thing, I know he'll like it. I worked on this one off and on over the last few days, I enjoyed working in this palette, it was a change of pace from the last few pieces I've done, which was nice.

For my sister, I chose to paint portraits of her two bulldogs, Lucy and Hank. Here's the one of Hank, I'll post the one up of Lucy when I get a better quality picture of it. The awesome thing about these dog portraits is that they went VERY fast.. each one completed in under 2-3 hours.

Well, I'm off to bed.. Merry Christmas everyone, I wish you all a happy, safe holiday!

first off, merry christmas everyone. pieces look really nice- i like the colorful reflections in the sword. and yeah, i've definitely used the "i have no money...here's some art!" method of christmas giving.

Thanks for all the feedback, guys! I appreciate it.

Tim- firstly, thanks! secondly, giving artwork for xmas gifts nowadays is actually giving them something that's worth some value. haha... so it's not like they got cheap stuff!

murderous- Thanks a lot, man! Yeah i like working loose... i might try it out more..

Joe- You too, dude! Thundercats, hm? we'll see :x

two bangers!! i d like to see you do the soul edge from soul calibur. if you dont i think i might! Definitly my favorite video game sword. my only criticizm would be Hank kinda looses his form in his left leg it has an awkward bend could use a little more form description in places. short haired dogs have a lot of great muscles you can see. especially in legs. look up Sir Edwin Landseer
