Golden Apples, Sketch
Hi all. Here's a sketch for the first piece of my upcoming show. Most of these pieces have to do with people dealing with inner demons in one way or another, but they're still very interpretive. It's exciting to be able to experiment, take risks, and explore ideas that have only existed in my sketchbook. In any case, hope you guys like it!

i left a comment on this on your blog, but taking a second look at it, i didn't take a moment to appreciate the cool textures you incorporated into it.. i like it and look forward to the finish.
Really beautiful tones! The textures and gold really tie everything together.
Love how you achieved that shining gold. Looking forward to all your new pieces!
I really like how the gold looks like gold. I am eager to see how this looks in the final.
looking great so far, tim! it almost seems finished already. i'd watch the drawing on the hand on the ground. besides that i'm really digging it. very james jean in the best way. love the limited color palette.
thanks a lot for the comments, everyone. i'm excited to draw some more for these pieces.
eric- yeah, i want to introduce some new effects to these pieces
kim- thanks! i loved the piece you put on the blog and hope to see more
joe- thanks. i'll be sure to keep everyone posted.
fish- thanks a bunch. i didn't want them to look just yellow, but gold.
alex- i'm glad it's reminiscent in a good way. i'd be an epic liar if i said i wasn't a rabid fan of his.
tasteful. so good. every time i see one of your "SKETCHES" i always ask 'why the hell is he doing a FINISH?'...and then i see your finishes, and they never disappoint and they always show how much farther you ARE able to go without overdoing or remotely ruining anything. awesome
