New Art for the Win
Recently I realised how unhappy I was with my coloring technique, so instead of working on my ELYs like I'm supposed to, I've been experimenting with color and rendering on personal projects and my ELY poster design. I wasn't going to upload these on here out of shyness, but I decided (wtf, whatever, its art, even if it's not pertinent).
So the new style I've been working on is no scanner blue pencil, because it's nice and smooth and you can smudge and shade with it (with fingers, delicate crosshatching) BUT it doesn't smear like pencil does. So I can sketch in pencil, blue over top, and erase. Like magic. Then I scan in photoshops, play with line art color and opacity, before I start rendering on top, and finish with some textures. I just do love textures, and I love oil style painting, and intense pencil rendering.
So yeah, I hope it's working out.

Looking good :) I agree, I think experimenting is always good and in this case I think it was a good choice, good luck with your Elys, hope everything works out
Looks great. I love how the portrait looks like it was done in watercolor, even though its done in photoshop.
Your digital chops are getting better kid.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Really appreciate it. I'm happy to finally be moving in a direction I can be happy with, and gets the job done.
