Zooey Deschanel and Matt Ward of the Indie rock band SHE & HIM
For some reason when drawing Matt it was almost nothing to do. I did maybe 2 drawings till I got it right, but for some reason I drew Zooey NINE TIMES! I think that this is the closest to a likeness of her I can get.
I found out about this band from Paste Magazine. They are album of the year. Who knew. Plus I didn't know it but Zooey, before being a indie rock queen, was an actress in many movies I have watched much of recently, and prefers doing music over movies.

Never heard of the band, but I can relate to the frustration of achieving likenesses. Sometimes doing a sketch that many times to get those subtle characteristics down is what you need to do, as long as it works in the end, you know it was worth it!
I just checked out the 4 self assignments on your blog and you have an amazing style. I've seen Zooey DeChanel in movies, but had no idea that she was in a band. You learn something new every day! =)

Eric - It works but I still think the sides of the face need to come in alittle and the mouth and chin need to come up alittle. For now its done. I will look into it in a week or so.
Michele - Thank you! You are quite flattering. Yeah, I saw Zooey in Failure to launch and then I found out about She & Him and was like ..... HEY!
