watchmen submissions

hi everyone! these were my pieces for the Watchmen Show. i just finished them so it's a pretty premature post, as everything's subject to change

the first one is one of my favorite moments in the book; a supreme example of humanity at its greatest potential.

the second is the Silhouette. a minor character from the golden age, barely mentioned, and with only one scathingly political line of dialog. i wanted it to be one of those loaded portraits, where i put everything violent, political, social, sexual, and mysterious in her story, into every thought about the drawing.

thanks!

Wow Peter, you never disappoint! I definitely love the second silhouette the best! That red splatter really makes that image sing! All in all, glad to see a post from you hermano!

P.S. Also, on the Silhouette drawing, Those hands and the entire body are so fluid and poetic! Hirschfeld would be proud!

these are awesome, peter! i really like the top one in particular. really nice interpretation of the characters, and that's totally one of the big understated moments of the book.
