Hey friends,
So, I had lots of trouble coming up with a subject for my Golden Age submission. I was eventually determined to do The Shadow. So, here it is. It is a lot more elaborate than I normally work and I'm not sure it's what I wanted, but I think I'm happy with it. Let me know what you think.

i love the angles in the composition. it gives the piece a really great sense of motion. awesome stuff as usual :)
I think it's awesome.
ahhhhaha i love it
goddangit Drew, to say you never ever disappoint is an understatement. first of all, since i heard the Golden Age, in the recess of my memory, since we had the old radio tapes growing up when i was 7 & 8, i was hoping someone did the Shadow. and YOU did the Shadow, which just about made my day.
your watercolors are always good, your characters always charming, even at their intentional ugliest, and here the action is seriously beyond exhilarating.
what's cool here is, and this is a selfish comment, but as a watercolorist, or an artist myself, sometimes it's so easy to say "lemmee do a decent face and/or figure, and then splatter and texture and whatever in the back". i feel like a fraud sometimes, like i can't do anything but. when i look at the perspectives, the car, the ACTION (which is really hard man, but you NAILED it, it's exciting), the flurry of papers, the buldings, the angle the Shadow almost seems to be flying down for justice, the lines around him....Drew you pretty much proved you can do anything, and it can and will be KICK-ASS.
now don't ever give us anything less
Wow Peter,
What an honor. Thank you! you are too kind!
