New personal piece I just completed now. My last name, 'Herbst' is German for 'Autumn.' So here's my tribute to the season that's just settling itself in for the next few weeks. It's been years since I did anything remotely like a self-portrait until now. Kind of different from my usual style ...Phew. Enjoy!

the piece is great, it even has a dry feeling that relates to an autumn leaf. i also appreciate the rewards you get when you find all of the awesome little notes like the birds in the hair. very awesome.
god this is beautiful. composition, color, everything. and those fingernail scrapes in the apple are totally creepy/make the piece for me.
also, i'm with tim, there's a dryness to this that is awesome.
