Hey All, I thought I'd wait to post about this show until after the Day of the Dead opening (which was great by the way) but there's a pretty awesome Poe show up at Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction featuring art from yours truly and the Autumn Society's own
I did a bunch of slight variations, and in the interest of not taking up tons of space, i'll be posting more of those on my blog soon: www.stabwell.blogspot.com

Awesome! I think this turned out really great. I like the variations you posted with this too, it's a rally successful piece.
You slick murderous fellow! Looking good, real good! Keep it up with this style. I know Sam will be digging this as well.
More new work from Mr. Eckman, and it's totally awesome. It's so different from what i'm used to seeing but the textures, patterns, and stylization of it are so good. Are you looking to make more work in this vein?
thanks yous guys! i actually wasn't sure how this would be received since it's a bit of a departure from the norm for me.
eric - thanks! i actually printed all those variations hoping to entice patrons since every print really is different so everyone gets something unique.
joe - yeah there's definitely a sam-ness to this piece...i was kind of hoping no one would notice/call me out on it, haha.
tim - thanks very much! i think i'd like to try more in this style if i can manage it.
this is awesome. Cant wait to see more of your work in this printmaking type stylization you have going here.
I almost like all the variations together the best.
yes!
i feel like 9 times out of 10 whenever i see a Poe portrait it's essentially the same dang thing, but the very second i saw this one i was excited and relieved, as it is something unique and new
then i scrolled down and saw it came from M T Stabwell. of course!
love the variations too. i could look at color comps all friggin day. something i'm really loving about the one on the bottom right corner
