American Joker...

For the upcoming MADE IN AMERICA show.

Starting tomorrow, June 4th (First Friday) at TRUST Gallery located in Philadelphia, PA, at 249 Arch St. There will be live performances by: Dragonzord, Tigersapien, and Univox!

A special thanks to Brad Haubrich, Yis Goodwin, and Leah for putting this show together and inviting me and other Autumn Society members to be a part of it. It looks like it will be an amazing show!

This instantly reminded me of an 'extreme' Osamu Tezuka style here... :)

So awesome, Joe! It's a shame the show was pulled down so fast :\ The opening had such a great turn out though!

It got started with the idea of doing another Joker (from Batman) piece in a more Tezuka style / side profile pose, since the original slot of summer shows at BNW were going to be sequels from our shows from last year. Obviously, that didn't happen, but I got invited to this show and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to merge some of my views towards current americana and do my Joker sequel at the same time. Originally the piece was going to be called Uncle S"Lie," but I thought american joker fit better. I guess its a comment on how fake / scary american policies are nowadays... Thanks to everyone for the comments! :)
