Made in America

George Washington study
Oil on board, 11x14"

Hey guys, this is a piece I started yesterday and finished tonight for the group show "Made in America" at TRUST Gallery located in Philadelphia, PA, at 249 Arch St.There are 52 artists in the show, including myself. If you're in the area, swing on by!

Details for the Made in America show opening: June 4th, 6pm

For a while now, I've been wanting to try to paint a Master copy of an old painting. I never decided on one until now, for the show, I used it as an excuse to do a portrait of George Washington, but the great portrait painter Gilbert Stuart, known famously for his unfinished portrait of George Washington, but still a fantastic portraitist nonetheless. It was an incredible learning experience for me and I'm looking forward to my next Master copy, perhaps a Rembrandt.... or Rubens...

Anyway, hope you guys like it!

Haha! Thanks so much, man! It was a lot of fun, it's hanging over at T.R.U.S.T. Gallery right now, hopefully you can check it out in person on Friday.
