CRAFT WARS! Featuring Autumn Society Member, Ashley Long

Autumn Society contributor Ashley J. Long is going to appear on TLC's new competition show, Craft Wars, THIS
coming Tuesday, August 14th. Each Craft Wars episode features three artists or crafters, throwin' down in themed
challenges using weird surprise materials and whole wall of craft supplies from the sponsor.  A panel of judges decides
who's made the best project, based on concept, technical skill, and use of the materials provided, sending one
contender home with $10,000.  Ashley, creator of the Wumplings plush monster series
(http://www.etsy.com/shop/animateash) will be on the Halloween episode --her favorite holiday!  She'll be
accompanied by her on-camera crafting assistant Radmegan.
Here's a link to the commercial they've been playing on tv.  They show up a few times!

Ashley is a life- long doodler and weirdo, who has been doing custom illustration work for over a decade. She spent
the last six years working in Los Angeles animation industry, on the Fox show American Dad. By day, she does
storyboards, prop design, and character design, and has done work for shows including The Simpsons, King of the
Hill, and the Cleveland Show.  By night, she makes creatures out of faux fur, feathers, and anything delightfully gaudy!
Wumplings plush toys have been featured at Autumn Society shows through galleries like G1988 LA, and were one of
the major highlights in Ashley's Craft Wars application.  Wumplings are hand sewn, OOAK squishable art pieces which
often incorporate up-cycled fabrics and vintage trims.  In addition to plush work, Ashley also makes costumes, masks,
and builds giant puppets. A collection of her 3-dimensional works is available to view here:

Connect with the Wumplings on FB (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wumplings/194463343928002?ref=hl) or
Twitter to find out where they'll pop up next!  They'll be creeping around Comikaze LA in September, and hopefully
doing more gallery shows soon.
Also worth scoping out are Ashley's line of "Boyfriend Badges", relationship merit badges for achievements such as
Moral Support While Puking, Drunk Make Outs, and Breaking the Fart Barrier.  There's some flair we can all be proud
of! (http://www.etsy.com/shop/BoyfriendBadges)
Ashley is currently looking for freelance, as well as a new studio to call home!  Get in touch through any of the sites
above, or through her blog, Shitting Glitter ( http://ashleyjlong.blogspot.com/)

Ashley's Craft Wars assistant, Megan "Radmegan" Andersen is a Los Angeles-based blogger [link to

http://www.video2brain.com/en/trainers/megan-andersen] , taught live classes, hosted craft parties, and contributed
craft articles for various magazines. She began her full-time crafting career only two years ago when she was laid off
from her favorite job in corporate America and threw herself back into her first love (art and crafting) as a way to build
her confidence and stave off the job-searching blues. Radmegan's blog projects and etsy sales [link to

gardening, and in particular, caring for her massive collection of blood-thirsty carnivorous plants which often make
cameo appearances in her projects, in addition to keeping her back yard mostly bug-free. Follow her on Twitter here:
