Avengers Assemble!!!

I've been working on this painting for a while now in between jobs. Glad to finally finish it. Hope you guys like it. 

Avengers Assemble at Gallery 1988

I've been really excited about posting this one. Last night Gallery 1988 had an early preview of their Avengers Assemble art show, and here is my contribution!

The Glory Days

Did this for a sketch jam over at Cave Drawing Ink. I guess I got a little carried away with the idea of 'sketch' but I was told it could be as sketchy to finished as I wanted. Well, the theme was 'Retired Superheros' and I did not want to waste the opportunity for such a cool topic. As the post says above; this piece is titled "The Glory Days". I took a lot of inspiration from The Incredibles here if you hadn't noticed. Man the movie rules... This piece will also be posted over at Cave Drawing Ink as well in competition with a couple of other piece of the same theme... so go vote for me in the contest! I believe you have a chance to win something just for voting... wooo!

Oh and my favorite part of this whole piece is the headline of the old framed newspaper. It reads, "Nazi Killer, Cap' Punches Hitler in Face". Now if that headline doesn't sell papers I don't know what does?!

I'm really sorry I missed the show..
But, I Hope everyone had an awesome fourth of July, complete with fireworks, campfires, beer, and smore's...

So, Here's the Captain America image I submitted recently to The AUTUMN SOCIETY of PHILADELPHIA. It was for there GOLDEN AGE Show, and I figured it was appropriate for the most recent holiday...

Before I get bombarded by comments I need to clear one thing up.... I know the Nazi emblem (swasticka) is backwards in this image, I didn't have time to correct it after I'd printed, and prepped to send out in the mail.... I don't normally draw them, there's a good change I flopped my reference image while painting in photoshop and never corrected it..... or you can just imagine that OL' CAPPY is hitting RED SKULL SO HARD that the symbol just flip-flopped.

Either way I'll see about catching the show before it comes down...

Entree for the Golden Age Show

Hey all! For the show I went with Captain America. I have to add that working on this made me feel a bit more patriotic.

GOLDEN AGE PREVIEW....

I'm settling final presentation prep on my image. So, I figured I'd attach a little snippet of the image so that you guys would know it's me that done it... Sadly, I won't be at the show in person on friday. But, I'm there in spirit...oohing and aahing and all the brilliant work I'm sure will be on hand....I hope people snap some photos so I can feel like I'm there....Other then that I'll try to see the show before its taken down.
Great work everyone...I've gotta go get this together and MAIL IT OUT!!..
It's been a nervewracking honor to be involved in all this.

I'm satisfied with what I've done in spite of a few sanfu's but still, I Hope you dig.

Grappling with STEVE ROGERS...

So, I'm getting the ball rolling on my Golden age Show submission, and I don't have a ton of time, or an Idea I like yet...but I have been thinking about colors...
Attached are three images that capture some of the colors I'm thinking about using (this will not be the drawing however), maybe mixing and matching a few...because I'm concerned some of its getting too PINKish..
I just didn't wanna use the normal super saturated RED WHITE AND BLUE....was hoping for a different flavor...maybe make greenish blue....
Well lemme know what you might think about it, in the mean time I gotta get a composition idea rolling..

ALL AMERICAN AVENGER!

This like some of the other recent marvel posts sprang from a terrible sketch (which is why I've not shown it here...
But, I moved a few things around and did some paint. It wound up being a fun little study, Want to see if I can do something nice in the way of a Captain for Chogrin here in the next couple of weeks.
