I was only vaguely familiar with the movies when I got the invite for the show, though I knew of some friends who had fond childhood memories of Monster Squad. After watching the movies and doing some research I came up with this piece, which will make absolutely no sense to anybody who isn't familiar with the films, hah. My monster squad contribution for the Monster Creep show in Burbank. He really does have some nards in there. Everyone who meets him seems to have to touch them.

here's my contribution to the trick-art-treat show! last year, i went to a wedding on halloween where a group of us decided to be the universal monsters, but all dressed in formal attire for the special occasion. my halloween painting this year is of my boyfriend and i in our costumes last year. i love the way it came out, especially because the background is matte and the figures are more glossy. if any of you go and see it in person, i hope you notice the contrast as much as i do!
