mushy art

i hope everyone had a lovely valentine's! i did a couple of lovey dovey little paintings for a valentine's art show called "little bit of love on bangs" in asbury park, nj. i made these four, plus some from my one-eyed girls and kaotic kritter series. it was an awesome and fun show to be a part of.

The Sailor's Lady

my piece for "a sailor's grave" show. i'm a huge tattoo lover, so i'm really excited to be part of this show. all of the sailor-jerry-inspired artwork will look awesome together. my piece was actually really challenging for me, and it felt great to have struggled the way i did with it.  i'm not even sure if it looks all that different than my normal work, but it was tough for me to stay with the tattoo style and keep it simple. i think (hope) that it ended up a nice combination of my style and sailor jerry's style.

80's and clowntastrophe!

my piece for the 80's toy show. i love the idea of this show because it led to hours of me searching 80's toys online and reliving my childhood. made me giddy. but my love for rainbow brite conquers all so i painted her and starlite!

and here's the circus punk i did for the current clowntastrophe show, thanks to paul palcko (whose paintings were AMAZING)

frankie's worst nightmare

frankie's worst nightmare, 11"x14", acrylic/spraypaint

here's my contribution to the trick-art-treat show! last year, i went to a wedding on halloween where a group of us decided to be the universal monsters, but all dressed in formal attire for the special occasion. my halloween painting this year is of my boyfriend and i in our costumes last year. i love the way it came out, especially because the background is matte and the figures are more glossy. if any of you go and see it in person, i hope you notice the contrast as much as i do!

check out my blog to see our group's costumes that inspired my painting! happy halloween!

Princesses!

Hey! I haven't been working on anything major lately.. just a whole lot of sketches and experiments. But here are 3 out of my 8 One-Eyed Girls in my Princess series. I painted them a few months ago. From left to right--Princess of Dark Forestry (my favorite), Princess of Endless REM Cycles, and Princess of Agesless Boys

I'm waiting for my new "studio" (a.k.a. random empty room in my house) to be set up and once that happens i'll have lots of new artwork to show!

Video Game Show

Hi! This is my first post-- My name's Kasey and I'm a disabled artist. I've been paralyzed for almost 9 years now and art has always been my most significant outlet and extremely therapeutic in dealing with it. Anyway, this is my submission for the Video Game Show (8 Bit and Beyond). "Pixelated Princess Of Revitalizing Fungi" It's my version of Princess Peach as a One-Eyed Girl (1EG), a series i've been focusing on lately. I'll be posting more 1EG's in the future.. Hope you all enjoy!
