I decided to re-do yet another painting. When I was in high school I was OBSESSED with the movie Moulin Rouge. (I'm a huge dork, ok, I know this...) The movie was, in fact, one of the things that got me into pinup art-- all those crazy elaborate costumes and corsets and garter belts were so fun! I especially loved the brief Green Fairy absinthe hallucination sequence. So, I painted my version of the Absinthe Fairy. I've wanted to redo it for a while now, and I finally got around to it.
And, cause I love all you guys so much, I'm swallowing my pride and showing you the original along with my revamped version. I'm trusting that you'll be able to tell the difference.... Remember, that painting was at one time the best thing I'd ever done! One more thing: The original was done pre college, and the new one is after. So I guess it's also an illustration of what $20,000 in student loans got me! YAY ART!!!

good news, maryann, the new one is better. art school was worth it! i'm actually pretty impressed with the old one though. you should see the shit i churned out in high school...
nice job on those gams! those fishnets look perfect, and i mean that in the least creepy way possible. i'm also liking the way you handled the absinthe in the glass back there.

Oooooooo!!!! I LOVE these. I don't have much to say aside from that!!. I'm really digging your pinup series, your ladies are so awesome and hawt. I think it's interesting how you're redoing old high school pieces. I dunno, when I'm not killing myself over the stupid ELY I feel inspired to give this a try.
Again, Awesome!!!! You should do a rendition of Moulin Rouge ladies, like, cancan prostitute girls. XD
