Red Panda and Hoopoe

Hey there everybody,

I'm just posting my contribution to the Heart Earth show. There's not that much to tell; I've wanted to paint red panda for a long time now, so I figured this was my chance! Also, I researched bird species of China and found the amazing hoopoe, which I included in the scene. For kicks. Hope you all like them!

Pencil and the Pumpkin Patch

Hey All,

This is a painting I did for the upcoming Seasons show. It's one of a series of four about my pet hedgehog named Pencil. He's much less approachable than this painting makes him out to be, but I like it. I also like red winged blackbirds and gourds. So this is all around a pretty enjoyable painting for me.
Anyways I drew out four scenes, but some stuff has come up and I don't think I'm going to have time to do any more of these Pencil paintings before the show. The bright side is I did do my favorite one first, so if I have to show just one season, I'm glad it's this one.

Green Fairy!!

I decided to re-do yet another painting. When I was in high school I was OBSESSED with the movie Moulin Rouge. (I'm a huge dork, ok, I know this...) The movie was, in fact, one of the things that got me into pinup art-- all those crazy elaborate costumes and corsets and garter belts were so fun! I especially loved the brief Green Fairy absinthe hallucination sequence. So, I painted my version of the Absinthe Fairy. I've wanted to redo it for a while now, and I finally got around to it.

And, cause I love all you guys so much, I'm swallowing my pride and showing you the original along with my revamped version. I'm trusting that you'll be able to tell the difference.... Remember, that painting was at one time the best thing I'd ever done! One more thing: The original was done pre college, and the new one is after. So I guess it's also an illustration of what $20,000 in student loans got me! YAY ART!!!

Very Late Christmas Pin-up

Hey everyone! Haven't posted before for no good reason... But I just moved to New York and I'm trying to stay connected to the Philly illustration scene, and I guess the scene in general, too. You guys are all so talented and really keep me inspired. So, that having been said, here is a pinup I did for the holidays this year. Hope you like her.
