80s Pop Show submission: The Legend of Zelda

Triforce
11" x 14" oil on panel

Hey guys, after talking to Joe a few weeks back about submissions, I found out I was the only one so far that's brought up doing a Legend of Zelda piece. Joe persuaded me since I was on the fence about doing a portrait of Indiana Jones or Simon Belmont(castlevania series). Either way, The Legend of Zelda was one of my favorite games growing up and still is today. The Triforce is one of the most iconic symbols for RPGs from the Nintendo generation so how could I not represent it at this show? Anyway, I hope you guys dig it, I'm way excited to see all of the work for this show up on the wall together.

Im I dude who knows not a good god damn thing about Zelda. Zeldas the hero right? nah i know at least that much. I played for about 10 minutes got lost in the woods and gave up after fighting the same things over and over again. Was more of a Willow fan, even though it was just a zelda ripoff probly more annoying to play then Zelda, plus i had all the maps from Nintendo Power. but back to your piece my man. Solid, everything works together beautifully, the atmosphere, and those doom soaked clouds over those distant mountains. That radiant blue that bounces around that pillar is so believable it feels like you can step right into the piece, everythings really light and airy, I think youve really mastered the reflected light thing. solid 10.0 What is engraved on the plaque?

Jude- I've always wanted to win the internet, yesss. Glad you like the finish so much!

Alex- thanks, man, Epic is what I was hoping for.

Joe- Haha, thanks, good reaction

Fish- Thanks, dude! Sucks you can't make it out to the show.

Jy- Thanks, J. hah

Ant- Thanks for all the great compliments, man, it was a lot of fun to work on. Engraved on the plaque is something it's the text that's written on the Book of Mudora from Link to the Past... some really obscure referencing right there.. haha
