Awesome. Your characters always look stoned out of their gourds. Like they're trying to open their eyes as wide as they can to take it all in. I think it's great.
what a lovely illustration to a lovely film. i know i'm going to catch a little flack for this but Miyazaki post-Mononoke doesn't do it for me anymore, but this one, even aside from the nostalgia of picking it up forever ago at a grocery store rental counter, this movie packs a real sweet wallop. you and your style picked an appropriate great choice; i'm glad you didn't do anything else.
let's go for a walk! let's go for a walk! i feel great!
ps. i kinda have to agree with Eric on the watermarks, did you get burned/ripped off once?
Man, I love it. I got excited when I saw the title of the post, because Miyaki is one of the people whom I consider my big influences. The piece is adorable and you really integrated the characters into your own way of doing things.
Peter, I do agree with you in a sense- all of my favorite movies by him, with the exception of Howl's Moving Castle, are the earlier pics, but I don't think there's been one I don't like. As far as the watermark, I've seen much worse but it's generally kind of a faux pas that I hear lots of art directors and artists dislike. In any case, can't wait to see it in person!

I'm happy as can be!
Amazing illustration!
Haha! This is... this is adorable. I really like this. The watermark in the middle is a little distracting, but other than that, this rules. :]
