Dude really is a superfreak of nature.
Not sure if this one is done, coming, or going. Based on a whole bunch of portraits I sketched out of cartoon characters as 'real' people. For the record, they all make really, really ugly people. I also wanted to break out of the series of cartoony evil portraits I've been doing, so thanks for the 'Hero' theme.
I took the 'golden' thing literally.

Man, this is so awesome and gnarly! He definitely needs his pipe though! ;p
i really love the whole idea of this, and how rightfully hideous that salty dog probably is. he rules
That's a chin and a half, plus one. This is a great idea, I'd love to see a series with Olive Oyl, Wimpy and Bluto.
Holy crap, I just realized this was gold! That makes it even more awesome.
I was debating on whether or not to pipe him up.... but now, it's a definite.
And yeah, the thing is solid gold with black inks & bronze acrylics (and some Sharpie).
Thanks!
Yeah, the gold is an amazing touch! I also love how you rendered him...almost like he's a gold head sculpture. I can't wait to see that pipe!
Terrifying. And Brillant.
this is pretty great, reminds me of Eric Powell's the Goon comic
the pipe is a must! his hat might be nice too
This is really freaking great! I always imagined popeye to have some kind of elephantitis of the chin and forearms.
