Look Up in the Sky, It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's...

...my submission for the upcoming Golden Age show! I think it might just be me but seriously, when I think of Superman the only thing I can think of is that amazing scene in the Iron Giant when the Giant is flying towards the nuclear missile at the end of the movie. And he hears Hogarth's voice telling him "You are who you choose to be..." and the Giant says in his awesome Vin Diesel voice... "Superman...". Great flick, great frigging flick!

First off, great Superman! Second of all your post gave me chills, just reading that line and remembering that part from Iron Giant makes me want to watch the movie right now! God bless Superman and Brad Bird!

See, you get it! You know when writing that post I whispered "Superman..." to myself in my best Iron Giant voice!

i have a friend, heckuva guy, not an emotional tye at all, name of Baron Von Slegel (yep). but i LOVE that he will openly confide in you that when the Iron Giant says Superman, it's like the only time he's ever shed a tear.

i love everyone's way of saying 'golden age' too; it's so visually different on each one. yours is not about tomfoolery and trickery though. it's clearly wonderfully saying "i made this NOW about YESTERDAY" very cool, especially knowing you think of iron giant in the background, and how much that says about the golden age

Nice Kal-El, and a sweet Iron Giant reference...
it was the best film Vin Diesel dan tack to his so called catalog...
I know I cried a little....

Me and my animation buddies all had to walk away from each other outside the picture house.. Very emotional.

Oy, every time I see that part of the movie, my eyes get moist. And partly why is due to the music done by Michael Kamen, who was a truly unique musician.

And certainly a fine piece of Superman artwork. I could see a whole line of DC heroes done just like this one. Good goin'!
