your opinions

Hey everybody, I know i just posted something the other day but I could use your opinions on this one... the deadline for this isnt for a few days so this isn't urgent and I havnt heard what the art director things yet But I was wondering what you guys make of the little ink drip inside the silhouette. The piece is about abuse in lezbian couples so the idea was it was going to be a bloody nose. I think it works with and without it but I also have heard that people cant tell what it is... so your input would be helpful. Thanks everybody!

now that you explain the concept its interesting.
But i didnt know what it was.

maybe because its a inverted shadow too.

I think that the concept is way to vague, but a beautiful piece none the less.

If that is the approved finish to go to final I would go with the one without, unless you wanted to make the splatter alittle more bolder but not crazy. Possibly a color change to off set it from the really brown piece. Purple would be my first choice to try but I would try out a bunch of ways if you really want the splatter.

its actually more about feeling isolated and alone when thats happening in the relationship... talks about how there isnt anyone to go to, no support groups for them or anything and most people (even other lesbian couples) dont believe its going on, and in many cases they are not on good terms with their families because of their lifestyle, so there is no one to turn to.
so thats what the concept is about, not about the actual abuse

i've been looking at the side by side for a while now, mostly because, as always, this is a terrific piece (again!) Pat. i think i love the one without the drip as a nice slice of life yet mysterious intimate moment, however without the drip OR the accompanying article (and perhaps this is could act as a saving grace), the piece would not read 'abuse' enough

good luck and congrats on all the great work!

I think the drip kind of takes away from the impact of the silhouette
