Fire Swamp

I did these three as a single piece for Gallery 1988's Crazy 4 Cult show. I chose to do the Princess Bride because it was one of my favorite movies when I was going up and I couldn't resist the three terrors of the fire swamp. If you are interested I also posted the pencils of these on my blog
Have a good one!

TEN CENT ADVENTURES
I have finally finished the first series of 10 Ten Cent Adventures and I am very proud of how they turned out. Here are two of them and a little taste of the other eight, I will be posting them all on my blog again soon and updating a place for them on my website. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Breakfast
Hi everybody, it has been a while since I posted anything but here we go. This is for the John Hughes tribute show at Gallery 1988, I had a hard time choosing between the Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day off, but ultimately I had the Breakfast Club to watch again before doing so that is the one I went with. Have a good one!

t-shirts
I was recently asked by folks at shirthack.com to do a Star Wars t-shirt design for them, they are a new company and they will be launching hopefully later this week.
Needless to say I was really excited, who doesn't want to do a Star Wars drawing? Seriously, there is probably something wrong with you if you don't want to. Anyway, they asked me to do something with Darth Vader, which sounded pretty good to me, but the problem was that as I started brainstorming all the ideas I came up with would make nice prints and be a blast to make, but would not be something that I would ever wear on a shirt. So the challenge became, what kind of Star Wars shirt would I actually wear? In the end it turned out I wanted something subtle and here it is.

There is also a chance that my Coffee Break image that I did for the 3G show may end up on a shirt as well, but still working on how to turn it into a shirt design. I will post something on my blog or maybe here again as soon as they are available for purchase, in the mean time hold your horses.
Have a good one

The Morning After
I think the mom is so bad ass... No questions asked, she just goes in the kitchen and lays waste to the gremlins in there. So anyway this is finally my last piece for the 3G show. Have a good one folks!

Goonies
Hey again folks... trying to pump these out while I have a bit of time, so here is my Goonies piece. Not a big fun concept on this one, I just went with something that was fun to draw. I had a fun idea but when you see the Gremlins piece you'll see why I decided against it, I can't have all three pieces taking place in a completely destroyed room.... thats just overkill. Take it easy

Coffee Break
Hey guys, it's been months since I've posted on here! Been busy with work and grad school and such, but I couldn't pass up the Gallery 1988 show, so here is my Ghostbusters piece. I wanted to try something different with keeping the background simple... but it didn't work out as I had intended. I am still not certain how I feel about it, but I think I like it, so there is a chance it will be a little different when it gets to the show.
Since I've been away I have redesigned my website: www.patkinsella.com and I started a blog: patkinsella.wordpress.com so please feel free to check it out.
I'm going to try to do better about being around the Autumn Society again, I miss it over here, and I can't wait to see what everyone makes for the show!

Philadelphia Art Cooperative
Hi everyone, a couple friends of mine and I are in the very early stages of starting an artist coop. in the city. We are going to start it though with a metalsand jewely studio/workspace and hopefully drawing and painting as well, then over time we intend to branch out into many other media. At this stage we are working on fundraising so we are going to be having a fall arts and crafts show and will also be putting out a calendar of artists sponsored by local businesses. If any of you or perhaps anyone you know would be interested in participating in any of this or are interested in helping with the coop. in general please visit the website or contact me.

your opinions

Hey everybody, I know i just posted something the other day but I could use your opinions on this one... the deadline for this isnt for a few days so this isn't urgent and I havnt heard what the art director things yet But I was wondering what you guys make of the little ink drip inside the silhouette. The piece is about abuse in lezbian couples so the idea was it was going to be a bloody nose. I think it works with and without it but I also have heard that people cant tell what it is... so your input would be helpful. Thanks everybody!

i like animals
This was one of the best assignments I've had... It was an article about an old army base that used to manufacture chemical weapons out near Denver that was turned into a park and wildlife refuge. I also love any excuse to draw animals, you can do whatever you want.. feel like you have to be more careful when you draw people, its not as much fun. Have a good one everybody!

something different

I normally dont post work that I do for magazines and what not on here, but I couldnt help but think its funny that I went from doing a Ninja Turtles piece to being asked to illustrate the signing of the constitution. It was also odd to do a job that didnt require much of anything in the way of a concept, it needed to be pretty straight forward. Anyway, I thought it was an interesting one so I wanted to share it with you all. It was for the Penn Gazette for a review and interview with the author of "Plain, Honest Men" by, Richard Beeman. Have a good one everybody
