Happy Turkey Day!

Mark it zero!!! Thought this was an appropriate post for today since a "Turkey" is a bowling term when one gets 3 strikes in a row. Anywho, did this piece as commission for a big fan of the "Big Lebowski". A great, great film, one of my favs.
Also, Gallery 1988 is having a Black Friday sale tomorrow 11/26, it's 30% off original artwork and 20% off prints including a second edition of my sold out 3G show prints in a spiffy new color scheme. Click the link to check all of my prints they'll have available...G1988/Dave Perillo Prints

t-shirts

I was recently asked by folks at shirthack.com to do a Star Wars t-shirt design for them, they are a new company and they will be launching hopefully later this week.

Needless to say I was really excited, who doesn't want to do a Star Wars drawing? Seriously, there is probably something wrong with you if you don't want to. Anyway, they asked me to do something with Darth Vader, which sounded pretty good to me, but the problem was that as I started brainstorming all the ideas I came up with would make nice prints and be a blast to make, but would not be something that I would ever wear on a shirt. So the challenge became, what kind of Star Wars shirt would I actually wear? In the end it turned out I wanted something subtle and here it is.

There is also a chance that my Coffee Break image that I did for the 3G show may end up on a shirt as well, but still working on how to turn it into a shirt design. I will post something on my blog or maybe here again as soon as they are available for purchase, in the mean time hold your horses.

Have a good one

3G festivity..

So, I just got back from a short trip back to my hometown near Detroit, MI and I've found quite a rush of press and love for the three G show....Pretty awesome!...
If you where at the show I hope you had an awesome west coast evening. But, if you're like me you didn't make it and don't have too many ways to know the who's who of art in the show....

So here are my artworks in case you missed the L.A. art Bonanza...

Hope you dig, Comments always appreciated....

The 3G Show Premiere Teaser

3G Show Premiere Teaser from The Autumn Society on Vimeo.

The Autumn Society & Gallery 1988 proudly present the teaser trailer to the premiere of the 3G show, an art show in tribute to the movies: Ghostbusters, Goonies, and Gremlins. Three movies that defined the 80's (our) generation.

And if that's not epic enough, how about throwing in one of the original Ghostbusters to appear at the event? That's right,
Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore) appeared at the event in the Ecto-1 along with Chogrin(Illustrator & President of the Autumn Society) and San Diego Ghostbusters: Bryan Fear, Eric Eseke, &Sean Bishop. Michael C. Gross (producer of Ghostbusters), Seth Green, and Robin Shelby (Slimer in Ghostbusters 2) also made an appearance and supported the event. Simply put, it was a night of epic proportions. Unforgettable!

Watch the teaser clip of the premiere (Shot by Rich Collado) on VIMEO, YOUTUBE, or FLICKR.

Here are some pictures of that night. More to come!
