So here's a piece I kinda jotted down out of my head with no real planning. It's fun and I feel almost done, but I wanted some feedback... it feels overworked and I kinda want to go into it with more white gouache, and I'm a bit frustrated with the values. What do you think? Thanks for anything you can give me!
Awesome Hellboy stuff, by the way!

I can't seem to view this large? But it look pretty cool from what i can tell!
I uploaded the image again and now it's workin', thanks! Deleted my own comments above.
i don't want to be one of those guys that is no help by telling you this rules, but the painting of the dragon and its fluid movement to the rich dark plumes to the left are perfect. i wouldn't change a thing.
if i was forced to say anything that could be stronger it would be getting the figure to the same level of fluidity and richness as the rest. there could be a little more grace to match the bold arches of the dragon, and perhaps a way to integrate the elements a bit more (perhaps near the legs)
but honestly that is nit-picky and more in honor of your request for feedback --- the painting is GREAT! very rich and lush in value
Oh man, keep going with the white gouache. It's looking beautiful.
hey, i've been working with a piece that has similar color- basically sepia- and i have the same question of value. your piece is amazing- i love the movement of it!! possibly adding some sparce but strong white gouache to the figure's shirt and face might help (and maybe the scarf). and maybe some clarification to the legs. what i did in my piece was played with it a bit in photoshop and then applied physically what i found to be helpful. i'm still learning.
so great though!!
Gorgeous stuff mr Dan! i miss being able to see your work.
Hey thanks everyone, I appreciate the feedback!
pw! - thanks for the comment and yeah, I agree, the figure got a little rigid as I painted it (they always do!) and maybe going back in with some fluid gouache would do it.
Kategan - more white gouache yeah!!
Mega - that's a great idea to go in with Photoshop just to see... I do want to add some highlights to the figure though! and hey, what piece? would love to see it.
Ray - thanks! show the damn Hellboy piece!!!
i say keep going with the white, but it's looking beautiful! believe in yourself for once, trauten!
I gotta believe!!
