Hi Autumn Society,
My friend is a curator at Haverford College, he asked me to spread the word about this opportunity:
Curators Harrell Fletcher and Jens Hoffmann are looking for five local artists to feature in the People's Biennial, a traveling exhibition that will display remarkable contemporary works by artists who haven't had significant exposure, or who may not even consider themselves part of the "art world."
What are they looking for? Paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, and video, but also things that may not immediately look like art at all: children's science fair projects, mathematicians' notebooks, painted window displays, collections of all kinds.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23, 2010
Submissions, questions, feedback: hcpeoples@gmail.com

The Interactive Drinking Game (Who That Dude?!)
Hi Autumn Society...
Here's my first video on youtube. I got together with The Feelgoods to make this "drinking game" that involves my art. You have to guess who the caricature is and if you get it wrong, you take a drink. That simple. The music is great, check it out!
Can't wait to see everyone's stuff in the upcoming shows!

Classic P.B. & J!

I had started this Jim & Pam illustration a few months ago and got too busy with paying jobs to finish. Then recently my wife & I were doing an "Office" marathon (her mom has every season on DVD... we hope to have them all one day soon) and I got inspired to finish it. I love The Office, mostly the older seasons like 2 & 3, that's why I wanted to illustrate them from back then, before they were dating, married, having a baby...

King of Pop vs. King of Hop

Hi Everyone, here's my submission for the 8 Bit & Beyond Show! I decided to do Q*bert, since that was one of my favorite arcade games as a child. I fondly remember playing Q*bert in Chucky Cheese's, back when it felt like a tavern for kids... it was dark and they had no windows. I wanted to do more than just Q*bert hopping around. Then I thought about another character that "lit up" squares as he stepped on them, Michael Jackson in the "Billie Jean" video. With Michael all over the news, this inspiration was hard to avoid. So I went with it. I like that the video and Q*bert are from the same era, I'm sure someone thought about the similarities before.

Alf Saves The Golden Girls!

You may know by now- I lost my large version of The Golden Girls forever... I was all set for the 80's themed show and I overwrote the large file. But still having a small version of it, I decided to incorporate it into a new piece. So here's what I think Alf is up to today, he's getting old but still as much fun!

Golden Girls!

Hi! There were so many 80's tv shows and movies I wanted to do, I had a hard time picking one but I went with the Golden Girls. I know, they are not exactly "cool" or whatever, but you know you watched too!
BUT my Golden Girls has a horror story to it... upon completion (it's a digital painting) I accidentally over-wrote the original (large) file and only have this web-sized version. I put a lot of time into this piece, it taught me to be more careful with digital stuff. Anyone have suggestions on how to recover or increase my pixels, I'm open to them! I'm going to see if there's any way I can get a half-way decent print for the show or I will start on one of the many other 80's things I love. So for now, here are the girls... I hope you get to see them again!

The Joker Brought Me Here

I found out about The Autumn Society through my myspace friend, Drew Falchetta. He posted his awesome rendition of The Joker so I asked him what it was about. I had switched to digital painting from oils about 6 months ago and The Joker was my first work in the transition. Until now it was just a personal piece, so I am very excited to share it with you and to enter it into The Joker Show!
