skinned elbows

hey guys- sorry it took so long for me to actually contribute, i haven't really been on top of my game this summer.

so i've been trying to work on my likenesses during the break, because all i'm interested in drawing is human interaction and life- but all of my figures end up having most of the same characteristics and looking largely the same. doing portraits of my friends ended being a good way to both practice resemblances and knock out some spots for the fall semester at the same time.

so here is my friend linnea in one of her finer moments:

... she is just so graceful.

WOW! The shape and movement of this piece is great! I love the sense of how the event just happened. That curve and the way you cut it out add a lot to it too. Great to see you aboard!

Sincerely,

Another great piece by Millie!

I really enjoy, or in this case not enjoy the skid of the elbow making flames. It makes me feel like my elbow hurts!

Keep it up. I feel bad I only have 2 out of 10 spots half done and 2 weeks till dead line!

i agree with the other guys, it's a nice piece. i really like the variation in the texture, the little hip indicators on her lower back, and especially the little shadow on the right side of the piece that makes it all look like an intricate cut-paper piece.
