last minute heart earth submission

squeaking in just under the gun i guess.

inspired by Tim's awesome and very thorough process shots i thought i'd show a couple steps for my piece. yes that sketch is on a legal pad... times are tough in the eckman-lawn house.

dude you always come outta left field with some stunning work, you know theres not gonna be anything like yours and that s why i look forward to seeing what your gonna post for shows. thanks for showing some process, i like how the sketch is on a writing tablet by the way. Earth Spectre or Spirit? Gnarled Roots and end of days palette, very ominous. like how in the finish shes looking straight ahead, in the sketch when shes looking away looks like somber earth. in this one looks more like a rising up earth god. more powerful, like when her tree legs finish forming shes gonna smash some cities. xxoo

phew, goddamn Alex, i love your work. this one is killer also, and i love seeing the process, which i can never imagine with you. i always figure some kind of alchemy is involved, and a swirling vortex of papers and materials coiling about you like ethereal bees swarming the evil hive
