Hanged Man

It's a little sparse in the end, but I kind of like that.

Amazing character design as always Craig. The only thing I'd change is the color of the rope that he's hanging from. Right now it's blending with the background too much.

thanks, man.
yeah, i'm kind of losing a bit, but i wanted to integrate some gray into the figure, it's also 11x14 so standing in front of it on a wall it's more obvious.

wow, as usual, Craig. there's a lot to love here, but besides the usual gushing i do over your sketches, characters, and eventual execution, there are some nice new things and wonderful thoughtful variations you've got going on here. i love the light texture around the background, and the lightest glow in its center. it's just the most tasteful successful execution of that and i think totally works, and is one of those VERY welcome visual additions to your pieces without it being an obnoxious over the top visual style-over-substance/ form-over-function aspect to your art - the kind that is easy for people to appropriate incorrectly, especially when artists sometimes get desperate to put a handmade quality to their digital works. what you've done here is just right; so right

the tipsyness is great, the cool colors are excellent, and what i love the most about not grounding him is the ambiguous nature of the noose (not so ambiguous really, BUT what i always loved about the noose is the saying that you do a little dance before you go) and he looks like he could be doing anything really
