THE ICONOCLASTIC DEAD: Mary Blair

Here's my piece for

♥♥ I chose Mary Blair, because she was such an amazingly talented female artist who worked in animation! I am sure I am one of many women (and men!) working in animation today who look up to her in more ways than one ♥♥

Terminator 2

My work for Front magazine has led to some work for FHM magazine, and they commissioned me to do this piece for an anniversary tribute to Terminator 2. I hadn't seen any of the movies for quite a while so I went back and watched them while I worked on this assignment. Not that anybody needs me to say it, but T2 is easily the highlight of the series. The large graphic above is for a two page opening spread, and I also completed two spot graphics:

Skeleton

Not sure of the title of this piece… I’ve been referring to it as ‘Skeleton’ because of the gigantic dolphin skeleton in the foreground. But that seems far too obvious to be the proper title.
This is part four of my senior thesis. The last part of the series.

Dancin' and Dead...

So, this is the image that I submitted to last weeks show in Philly.
It's a little more handmade if you see it in person. But, I had a great little visit with people at the show and it was a good time had by all...

Hope you dig..

lady of the living impaired

Hey all, here is my piece for the Day of the Dead show. I used my One-Eyed Girl (1EG) series, but turned her into a skeleton for the occasion. It was a fun time, hope you enjoy. Can't wait for the show, so far all the work has been fantastic!

Esqueleto Con un Monopatín

This is my piece for the Dia De Los Muertos show. It was done on an oval shaped 9"x12" canvas with stencils and spray paint. The character was heavily influenced by Posada's prints.

Published: The War Resisters League

This is a quick set up of the publication, of an illustration, for an article I did for the winter 2009 / vol. 26 of WIN magazine (The Magazine of the War Resisters League). The article talks about Capitalism's burning house and how we're getting hurt by it. I have to thank my brother Matt Cavanaugh for the heads up on this one. Also, check out the awesome cover by Daniel Fishel.

To view the full illustration go to my black & White (editorial) section on my blog. I'm planning on retouching and editing parts of it for a more "final" look.

Cheers!
