8 preliminary drawings for "The Twelve Caesars"

Julius Caesar
Augustus
Tiberius
Caligula
Claudius
Nero
Galba
Vitellius

I started working on these in January, I'm obviously missing 4 more, they happen to be the later Caesars that are definitely not as iconic as the first bunch. "The Twelve Caesars" by Suetonius is a really great book on ancient Rome, full of a lot of dark crazy shit. It was, also, in these preliminary drawings that I started drawing the human figure more as I do now. They were actually drawn, except for Augustus, in the order of the book. I think Caesar and Caligula being the first ones. Augustus was actually the last. I wanted them to in some way embody what I perceived, at the time, as human nature and it's relation to power, and maybe I still do. As I'm posting this I'm getting excited about the whole thing again. I'll probably try to finish up the other four drawings by the end of summer.

TMNT Bad Guys

Hey gang.
It's been a while since I've posted anything, but I just finished up on my 80's theme Autumn Society show piece and wanted to toss it up here. It's just a pen & ink work taken and scanned directly out of the sketch book. For inspiration I wanted to just do my own spin on a classic 80's cartoon adventure show.
Enjoy.

Swine flu originates in corrupt Mexican city - innocent townspeople silently suffer

Hey dudes. This is an illo I just did for the Indy, illustrating an article about the origins of swine flu. Apparently some really corrupt stuff has been going on, and it's the innocent people in Mexico that are first to suffer.

Hope everyone is doing well, enjoying the warm coming on. I have been sick as a dog, myself.

"Man from Byss" prints available

I got to pick up four prints of one of my inks from Flip Switch Studios, in Connecticut. First off, I was really excited about the fact that Tru Shar wanted to take time from his busy schedule to make these four hand-made prints. They are definitely one of a kind, done in the old school method. Tru is an amazing artist so I was really honored by that. Anyway, so here they are people, for the pleasure of your ownership at http://www.FourStrokeStudio.com .

Hoot!

Here's an owl I made.

I didn't find a good dead-on owl picture for the pose I wanted, so I drew this referencing about four different pictures. This may mean that this 'breed' of owl does not, in actuality, exist. Are you comfortable with that? (that's not a real question...I mean, unless you aren't. Which would be mildly strange, or perhaps make you an owl connoisseur. And if you are, let's talk about that, because owls are definitely pretty neat).

New Ink "Trident"

I just finished this one yesterday, my photo reproduction really doesn't do it justice, and the ink is a little too big for my scanner. Anyway, I've revamped my website- www.FourStrokeStudio.com. One of the new things on there is a print store. Right now there is only one print available for sale, it's been hand-made by a fellow artist at FlipSwitchStudio.
I went to see the Joker show and I thought it was awesome.

First Autumn Society post

I meant to post this last week, but everything has been pretty hectic. The Ely Show was amazing, and I'd like to say congratulations to everyone in my department for an incredible display of work and talent.

This poster was commissioned by my buddy Chaz Flud, who is a very talented composer and also a fellow New Jersey-an. It's going to be showing May 7th and 8th, and will be my first ballet ever.

Also, thank you Chogrin for inviting me to participate in this community. I'm really looking forward to seeing the upcoming Joker show, it's going to be great.
