NOTICE MAGAZINE – INAUGURAL RELEASE

Hot off the presses, and after a good amount of editing, Matt Cavanaugh presents the first two offerings of a self-publishing project called NOTICE MAGAZINE.

NOTICE magazine and visual journal is a self initiated project curated and produced by Matt Cavanaugh/MCavanaugh Creative. NOTICE was born out of an intuitive discovery of capturing the somewhat overlooked and desolate terrains found in life. The project also serves as a time capsule for our ever changing American landscape. The first two issues; “The Roar Of Silence” and “Remembering Coney Island” can be purchased via Matt's etsy store. Additional vendors for purchasing will be announced soon…

To find out more and to view samples of the magazine, please check out Matt's Projects Section on his site: here

To Purchase a copy of the magazine, please visit Matt's Etsy Store: here

Additional releases to follow in the coming months, stay tuned.

"Fragility" my Beautiful Grim Submission

Mr. Braddock explained the backstory of this breast cancer benefit show admirably back on Jan. 26, I'm just sharing my contribution with the rest of the Autumn Society community. It's an allegorical piece; the demon creature is something that by it's very existence is destructive (like a cancer) and the dandelion-like flower is representational of the fragility of a human life. On a personal note: this project hit particularly close to home since, as of 6 months ago, my cousin was diagnosed with stage three brain cancer. There is a lot of great work to check-out on the Beautiful Grim facebook page, so please take a look.

Abe Sapian by illworx

I'm finally uploading my piece for the Hellboy show, a dimensional illustration of Abe Sapian called "Two Lost Souls Swimming in a Fishbowl". Thanks to everyone who came out, it was an awesome time! I didn't want to clutter up the ASOP blog too much, but I have some process work and details on my blog, stitch-in-the-ditch, for creating the image. Thanks for taking a look! -illworx

My pieces for the Golden Age show

Hello! Here are my pieces for the Golden Age show. As you might have already figured out, I decided to go with some Batman images. Not sure if all three will be in the show (or perhaps they'll be framed together) but I thought I'd post all of them anyway. Hope you like them!

The Most Convenient Definitions

Hello! I'm Rae Winters - I'm a freelance photographer and I've been a member of the Autumn Society for a few months now. This is my first post on the blog, and I wanted to put up my piece for the 80s show. I'm a horror movie fanatic, so I originally wanted to do something with John Carpenter or some other 80s classic (and I'm so glad others have done that!), but in the end I went to the opposite end of the spectrum and chose The Breakfast Club. The collage may look a bit off here - it was too large for me to scan so I had to take a photo of the finished product, but hopefully you still get the idea of what I was going for. Hope you enjoy it!

BLAST FROM THE PAST!

I was going through some old files today and found this one and laughed. This was for a digital manipulation project for my Photography class back in 2005 at Uarts. I think I might of posted this before awhile back, but nonetheless here it is again. Cheers!

PROCESSING PROCESS : SHOWPOSTER (three of three)

Hey ASOP folks,

The third installment of my process rant is up with some pretty slick photography. Check it out, and feel free to comment on my blog so it looks like people actually visit my site, heh heh. The last step was silk-screening...

Halloween in the Time of Cholera.

Don't want to choke the list, but I thought some folks would enjoy.

I'm inspired by the general spookiness of Halloween, but old Halloween snapshots are inherently even creepier. Hope they inspire you.

" For Anthony Pedro "

This is a mural I'm very fond of, found at the entrance of "Spaceship Earth," at Epcot, Disney. It really mixes history and a lot of elements I've grown up with and love.

* My retro Red VS. the Black Hole *

This is another quick experiment I did just for fun. I recently got a new bike, a Retro Red Schwinn Windwood to be exact. Since this is technically my first bike ever, I figured why not take a pic or two to capture the moment...Then I opened it in photshop and that's when the fun began. Some erasing, layering, watercolor splatter, listening to Probot, and here it is.

Sincerely,

~El Capitan Game~
