Alien Xenomorph Maquette

I always wanted to sculpt an Alien but never really had a reason too especially since everyone and their brother has done an alien sculpture, but I got commissioned to do one so here it is. It's not any particular version of the Xenomorph just me taking bits and pieces I like from each design and putting my spin on it.

if you want to commission me for something email me at cigneutron@gmail.com

HellGoon and Frank Sapien

My friend and amazing artist Cecil Porter's http://www.cecilportertattoos.com birthday was coming up and I wanted to sculpt him something. His two favorite Comic books were Hellboy and The Goon. I couldn't decide which one to sculpt so I just did them both...in one! Click HERE to see the full photo set.

Ever wonder what your illustrations would look like if they were sculpted or were a sculpture? Well, here's a preview for a (work-in-progress) sculpture based on Anita Mejía's work for her future art gallery in Ensanada, Baja California. The sculpture was done by the mega talented Ariadne Orozco (www.ariadneescultura.blogspot.com).

ZBrush

Hey guys, just wanted to share a little bit of what I've been working on in between projects.

BTTF2 HOVERBOARD BY NILS GUADAGNIN

"The Hoverboard is a project made by Nils guadagnin, a young french artist. This work is born in 2008 for an exhibition named "Back To the future".
It is a copy of the hoverboard from the movie Back to the Future II. Integrated into the board and the plinth is an electromagnetic system which levitates the board. A laser system stabilises the object in the air.
In the making of this work, this artist was thinking about different ways of presenting sculpture. In fact it's a reflexion on the multiple possibilities of how to give a sculpture full spatial autonomy."

"Fragility" my Beautiful Grim Submission

Mr. Braddock explained the backstory of this breast cancer benefit show admirably back on Jan. 26, I'm just sharing my contribution with the rest of the Autumn Society community. It's an allegorical piece; the demon creature is something that by it's very existence is destructive (like a cancer) and the dandelion-like flower is representational of the fragility of a human life. On a personal note: this project hit particularly close to home since, as of 6 months ago, my cousin was diagnosed with stage three brain cancer. There is a lot of great work to check-out on the Beautiful Grim facebook page, so please take a look.

Abe Sapian by illworx

I'm finally uploading my piece for the Hellboy show, a dimensional illustration of Abe Sapian called "Two Lost Souls Swimming in a Fishbowl". Thanks to everyone who came out, it was an awesome time! I didn't want to clutter up the ASOP blog too much, but I have some process work and details on my blog, stitch-in-the-ditch, for creating the image. Thanks for taking a look! -illworx

Paper Stampede

Hey there. Thanks for inviting me to share with you guys. I do freelance sculpture and made up a little name, Paper Stampede, for them all. I have about 20 pieces going up at Higher Grounds in Northern Liberties for the month of April if you want to pop by. They're more fun to see in person. Here's the postcard and a few pieces I've done recently.

Relating to comic-con...

Since the Baltimore Comic-con was just the other weekend, I thought i would post something completely different that I have been working on. This is the first stage of a latex mask i am making, and it is the FIRST mask i have ever tried to make. It is based on the Joker from Arkham Asylum.
