"el condor pasa"

It's strange how much music and painting can be connected to me sometimes. I find that I get much inspiration for my work from songs i listen to on my itunes.

This new painting i just completed is inspired by the simon and garfunkel song "el condor pasa." here's the song below.

Dark Horse

Here is my latest equine fine art painting for a horse owner client. They used to own this guy as a show horse but had to retire him due to arthritis in his back end. His name was Stanby Slew and he was a grandson of the great, undefeated, 1977 Triple Crown Winner, Seattle Slew. From what my client has said, he looked almost exactly like his famous grandfather. I love his soulful, proud eye (always my favorite part of a horse to paint). Enjoy!

Paper Stampede

Hey there. Thanks for inviting me to share with you guys. I do freelance sculpture and made up a little name, Paper Stampede, for them all. I have about 20 pieces going up at Higher Grounds in Northern Liberties for the month of April if you want to pop by. They're more fun to see in person. Here's the postcard and a few pieces I've done recently.

Hello!

Hello All,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Alexis and I'm a new participant of this wonderful artist blog. I'm also new to Philadelphia and am very eager to reach out and become an active member of this awesome city's artist community.

My work mainly consists of animal illustrations. Please feel free to browse my personal blog and Flickr account:

I hope to complete and self-publish two of my very first comics. "Wolf Dishes" and "Earth Givers". I will post sketches of both soon.

Here's a sketch I did of a friend of mine as a raccoon:

Thanks for your time.

Best,
Alexis
