Personal Pieces and Commissions

Just recently finished my first book!  I've been working on making my figures less and less realistic, so here are my most recent pieces.

Bubblegum Punk

Huge fan of Kick-Ass so I had to do a piece based on the movie! This Hit Girl tribute is titled "Bubblegum Punk" (click to enlarge).

Put On Your Thinking Cap!

Portrait of Adora
I've recently been commissioned to do a portrait of someone's child.  I could do whatever I want with it, so I wanted to illustrate how kids are sometimes smarter than adults.  Owls are often called "wise", so I decided to add it to the piece.

Corn

I've been into doing spots lately, so here are some of the pieces I've done recently for Tim Bower.
I've also been obsessed with food documentaries lately since its easy to work while I listen to them, occasionally glancing at the laptop screen while I draw.

Ely Poster

Hey guys,
Haven't posted in awhile, so here's a new piece I've done recently. Just looking at all the new work here makes me so motivated, and helps because now I'm on break. This is kind of a new way of coloring for me. Yuko Shimizu recently visited my school and said some things about the way I worked, which I took to heart and tried my best to integrate into my pieces.

Have a great holiday season, everyone!

Children's Book Spread

This one was a fun project. It is actually the rejected sketch for my class, but since I finished the first one so quickly, I was able to find time to do another piece. This is for the children's book called "Room on the Broom" for Tim Bower

The Eagle and The Arrow

An Eagle was soaring through the air when suddenly it heard the whizz of an Arrow, and felt itself wounded to death. Slowly it fluttered down to the earth, with its life-blood pouring out of it. Looking down upon the Arrow with which it had been pierced, it found that the shaft of the Arrow had been feathered with one of its own plumes. "Alas!" it cried, as it died,

"We often give our enemies the means for our own destruction."

Another piece for Ralph's class
