Happy (Early) Chinese New Year!

Quickie illustration for the New Year; I cranked this guy out real fast on Thursday :) Figured I'd post today because who checks blogs and things on the weekend?! Hope you all have a great year, and according to the Chinese, the year of Snake is meant for steady progress and attention to detail!

New work from Bobby O'Herlihy!

This is my contribution to the upcoming "Press Paws" show. The theme being, "animals in video games" as the proceeds from the show will be going to a local Los Angeles Dog Rescue. Doggies are a big yes in my book, so how the heck could I say no?

I chose two of my favorites, Megaman and his best buddy Rush! This will be a one and done run off. If you were looking to buy this piece it'll be exclusively at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, CA. The show's set for February 9th, check it out if you're in the area!

Big thanks to Amelia Cantlay for the invite!

Got a little lost, so I drew myself to help find myself. I'll be updating more frequently, I've got some work to do.

Animated Gifs the Future of Illustration?

Is the future of illustration in Animated Gif's in the markets of Advertising and Editorial's new mediums of E-Paper/E-Ink, and The Kindle?

I think it's a matter of time before illustrators will start to discuss the pricing and ethical use of Animated Gif's made by illustrators. Who knows when illustrators will start getting jobs to animate things. For animated E-Ink Wine bottle labels, E-Ink Advertisements on the sides of bus's, Animated Illustrations for publication on Kindles.....

Above is a piece I did for school to slowly start getting a grasp of the medium to prepare for this shift.

Using Yesterdays Technology For Tomorrows Job

This is just one of a few pieces I have been working on as of late and is one of my promo cards I am sending out at the end of the week along with my skidmore college piece. The quote is from the book "The Medium is the Message", which is a must read for anyone. Takes 4 hours to get through it so why not. It predicted the internet 30 years before it was invented.

Also, check out my website with new java script madness I have added to it.

You Can't Always Get What You Want... So Don't Worry.

You Can't Always Get What You Want.

I am not a fan of spring. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the sun, and breeze going across my face as I bike around Philadelphia. The weather is quite premium. What gets me bitter this time of the year, is seeing what I don't have. It's human nature to feel envious of other people who find their other half, but it is something I reflect on this time of the year. This is a metaphorical illustration about that bitter feeling.

There is no use in worrying, when there is nothing to worry about.

This is a illustration I made for my mom. She worries about me, ALOT. So I made her this as a simple calm down during these vital times, and economic hardships most of us are facing.

I just uploaded these images to my website.

new personal work(possibly related to seasons)

here's a piece that i' managed to make time for lately. it felt really great to be able to do some work for myself and not a client for once. i'm working on three pieces that are specifically "the seasons" that i've been thinking of as part of this series. i'll upload those as soon as i get them done!
