Using Yesterdays Technology For Tomorrows Job

Using Yesterdays Technology For Tomorrows Job

This is just one of a few pieces I have been working on as of late and is one of my promo cards I am sending out at the end of the week along with my skidmore college piece. The quote is from the book "The Medium is the Message", which is a must read for anyone. Takes 4 hours to get through it so why not. It predicted the internet 30 years before it was invented.

Also, check out my website with new java script madness I have added to it.

Spring

Spring, 10x13.5, pencil & digital

Hey everybody. The above image is the finish of a sketch I posted earlier. It's going to be used as my next promo and also for my upcoming show in July at Chapterhouse.

I tried a couple new things, like the texturing on top and the the lines are handled in the branches. With the latter, I was hoping to showcase the drawing a little more than if I had rendered it and I'm hoping to get a good response with this one. Regardless, I'm happy with it and think it will make a good addition to the show. Below I wanted to post some progress pieces, so there's the sketch, drawing, in progress, etc. It's kinda funny to see the changes from the original sketch- mainly the proportions of the head..yikes. Thanks!

If you didn't know already, I work at Ritz at the Bourse in Olde City (I got to pay bills you know). We started a Midnight Movie Series of 8 classic film in 35mm! If these movies do well, then we can continue to do more! So please come out and support a great theater and a great program and see some awesome movies on the big screen! Thanks!

Elite Green Poster

Above is a recent poster that I completed for Elite Landscaping (their "green" division to be precise) via 168 Design. It was a pretty quick turnaround, but I really enjoyed working on it and wanted to share it with everyone. Thanks.

special thanks go out to my bosses at 168 Rick and Linda for this one.

My website is up

It took me a while but I knocked out all the kinks to the new site design so that it is safe to view on all browsers with no problem. This is a design that I feel I can live with for the next 2-4 years till I have to do any re-designing.

I thought it would be P.C. to share with the group this long struggle with dreamweaver to actully create a website that I like the design of.

Thanks!

Joker Show Update (Please Read)!

Hey guys,
The Joker show is growing into something amazing, so thank-you for those who are participating. Again this is the Autumn Society's first gallery show and I'm very excited to be part of it. This will also be a great time to meet old and new faces. With that said here's some information for those participating and for those still interested in joining in.

Have your piece mounted on foamcore or framed by Wednesday, April 1st and ready to hang at Brave New Worlds Comics at 7:00pm.

-If you're doing foamcore, make sure you bring your own velcro strips.
-If you're framing your piece, make sure your frame has a wire on the back.

2. FLYER & POSTCARD DEADLINE:

Those who wish to be included on the flyer and postcard of the show, have your work e-mailed to me by March 15th.

-email: theautumnsociety@gmail.com

3. AUTUMN SOCIETY PROMOTIONAL CARD SET DEADLINE:

Below is an example of what I would like to have and sell at the premiere of the show. In order for this to happen, I would need at least 20 of you to participate to make a decent sized set.

For those really interested in doing this, please e-mail me ( theautumnsociety@gmail.com ) and I will send you all the info and template to make your own! These will also need to be done by March 15th.

4. OPENING NIGHT:

Those who have not posted or e-mailed me their pieces, please e-mail me and let me know if you're participating for sure, so I can have a rough number of people that will definitely be hanging on the 1st. Any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me, ( theautumnsociety@gmail.com ) I will gladly help you out.

Thanks again everyone and godspeed!

PROCESS: V-DAY Card

Hey everyone!
As some of you know, I do commercial Illustration for different companies from time to time. For the most part this type of Illustration has a super tight deadline (like 6-8 hours) to complete. So I thought I'd share the process for a promotional card I did for a design company, for Valentine's Day. This took me about 8 hours total with sketches, revisions, and prints. Enjoy!
