Hey fellow gamers/drawers/nerdy-types: here's my submission for the 8-Bit Champs show!

The game I chose was Dragon Quest, or, if you grew up here, Warrior, which was literally my first foray into the realm of RPG's. It was also the first video game I got that wasn't Super Mario Bros., which came bundled with my NES console. And as a bonus, I got it for free with my subscription to Nintendo Power, a subscription which I almost wholeheartedly blame for my current, adult addiction to reading endlessly about videogames.

Earlier in 2011, I was approached by the Autumn Society about an opportunity with Dreamworks. The project involved selling original artwork and giclee prints in tribute to the Dreamworks films: Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon. I was lucky enough to be asked to do one for all 3 films.

I'm a huge fan of all three so it was something that was incredibly fun to work on. They're finally posted up on their website and are for sale through the site, DreamWorks Animation Fine Art . A special thanks to Chogrin and to KC Sanders for the opportunity on this awesome project! Hope you guys dig the finals.

LES DINGLE: commander of the beyond

Hey guys n' gals n' guy-gals n' gal-guys,

David C. Smith here again. I contributed to Titmouse Studios anthology comic "Mook Vol. 2" which won't be out for a bit. Volume 1 barely came out and it's totally worth grabbing by the way. Anyway, here's my contribution to volume 2, "Les Dingle: commander of the beyond." It's a story about powers and puberty...IN SPACE!!! Read it HERE!

RIP Frank Frazetta (2.9.1928 - 5.10.2010)

One of my favorites of his works.

Frazetta was a giant. His work inspired many of us all and his work will continue to inspire future generations of artists. A sad day indeed for the art community.
