Courtesan

Recently I was asked to do a pin-up illustration for Courtesan Clothing which included revised hand lettering on their original logo. The following is the sketch-ink-finish process for that...

Initial logo pencil sketches based off of their existing logo. I put a variety of "c"s in there so I could get a feel for the look they wanted to achieve.

finally...!

"title?!" watercolor, gouache 20.5 x 9"

Thanks to all y'all who gave me some great feedback the last time I posted this, when it was halfway finished. I got a little obsessive with this painting, but it's finally done. It was hard to get the lighting of the photo right since the paper's got some buckling (didn't I learn anything in school, like using tape?!) and I have yet to flatten it out. Anyways, on to the next thing!

New Stuff

Finish from La Morté Sisters, out with Zuda Comics October 1st and a preview of Valentine, the story I'm doing that will be out on Comixology (first issue is free) due out in November.

This is why I will not be leaving my house for the next few weeks...

I'll have links up when the comics are live.

St George, Le Fin

Hi all. Here's the final for my "Dragon" themed illustration. It was a bit of a struggle getting it done in certain areas, but in general I think it's a successful piece. I wanted to do a piece that wasn't so quiet, like my last few. So, a little more action and a pose that wasn't so stoic. I also wanted the skin tones to be kinda pale so that I could play up the reds in the hands more. Hope you guys like it. Later!

Fisherman's Wife Finish

Riding in on Karen's coattails, I'll put up my own finish for the project. Hope that the pieces are going well for everyone. I'll probably send out an email soon to see where everyone thinks is the best place to meet up so we can hang out and share all of our work. Can't wait to see the rest!

Finish

Thought I'd be the first to post my Fisherman's Wife finish.... I'm leaving in the early morn' for a two week trip out west. Let me know what y'all think.
