I really admire painters who work loose and really show off their brush strokes. Some that come to mind are Greg Manchess, NC Wyeth, Justin Sweet and the like.. The marks they make and the affects that occur are absolutely beautiful and are so interesting to look at. I've been wanting to bring some of that into my work lately and took this piece as an opportunity to try it out. This is my submission for the show next month, I've been delayed due to some freelance work on my plate, but I am glad I finally got to post this up. Hope you all like it!

gorgeous! i love the soft edges and warm glow you can get with oil paint
you know i like this one a lot. i'm not sure how much looser you're planning on getting, but i think its a good balance for this piece. looking forward to seeing what happens in the next one.
those patterns look boss.
first im offended you didnt add me as a favorite brushy artist! but i really love this. just a really simple take that shows off your technical skills. you get better w every piece i love seeing it.
Epic Eric does it again! Love the softness around the skull and the details are so good! The vocabulary of the patterns is wonderful. Are they your own design or is it another influence? Simple. Epic. Muerto.
you're getting more and more fierce with each painting you do. this one is haunting
