Raziel of Nosgoth.

Let me start by saying that I love this game franchise... SOULREAVER WAS AWESOME!
It was a rare couple of video games where the voice acting, story, and overall mood of the content was harmoniously engaging for me.... I can close my eyes and here TONY JAY's VOICE, and the EPIC music from this game..
I'm not sure I did the game justice, But I tried...It was dark, errie, foreboding at times, and showed vampires as ghoulish monsters grown wise and physically altered by the passing eons..NO SPARKLY VAMPIRES HERE..
So I rendered Raziel, Consuming some delicious SOULS, and holding the glowing energy blade (REAVER) which is his primary weapon in the gameplay... also if you look in the bg near his right leg.. You might also see the pillars of Nosgoth which where a key location in the game...
I'm thinking of doing some more images in this style to show my love for this game...but those will have to wait...
I'm sorry I had to miss first Friday. But, I hope you'll scope out this post here, and lemme know what you think...
I hope you dig...

OCTOBER IS UPON US! (October Art Shows)
Friends and Fiends of the Autumn Society,
HALLOWED HALLOWEEN
Our main event will be Hallowed Halloween in collaboration with the Philadelphia Cartoonist Society. Sam Heimer, co-founder of the Autumn Society, has personally curated this show, and you DO NOT want to miss it! If you love the true spirit of Halloween and you're in Philly this one is for you! Only at PROXIMITY gallery! Some words from Sam & Info / Flyer Below...
SOME WORDS FROM SAM
"If you haven't heard already; this Friday, October 1st, is the opening reception of Hallowed Halloween. This show is the first official joint venture between The Autumn Society and The Philadelphia Cartoonist Society. The aforementioned groups have cohabited since AS's beginning, and since then the groups have shared members on and off, but never really worked together. Again, this is the first time both groups have collaborated and brought equal greatness to the table. It will be a coalition of awesomeness so lets pack the house & spread the word!"

VIDEO GAME GORE
And if that's not enough for you, how about some pop-culture / blood drenched illustrations of your favorite video game characters? The Autumn Society & Brave New Worlds Comics are teaming up for their last show of the year to bring the Video Game Gore Show. Only at Brave New Worlds Comics!!!
About Video Game Gore (By Paul Montgomery of the Philadelphia Weekly)
"Pixelated carnage has come a long way since Donkey Kong hurled his first barrel and that intrepid Jump Man, and the Autumn Society’s latest gallery showing chronicles that bloody, button-mashed history with Video Game Gore. Local artists re-imagine the grisliest, spine-busting finishers of their latch-key youths in a showcase celebrating first person shooters, arcade fighters and sidescrolling slobberknockers. Whether you like your interactive atrocity rendered in 8, 16, 32, 64-bit or beyond, you’ll likely find a snapshot of virtual brutality vivid enough to transport you to those halcyon days of callused, Cheetos-powdered fingers, scrounging down to depths of your pockets for one more quarter. Stock up on health packs, save your progress, and get ready to feel anemic."

BOOM!
So I present my final piece. In a previous post, I wrote about adding SO many more colors and such, but when I did, I hated it. This is slightly different from the postcard that was sent out, but I like it just the same.
Really looking forward to seeing all the other super bitchin' pieces there. I know Im not the only one on here really itching for Halloween and Halloween art crap!
Check out my site for more crap.

Video Game Gore: Big Daddy Trexi
Peachy Clean
the most wonderful time of year! nothing makes me happier than halloween, or art shows based around horror and gore! for the Video Game Gore show, i couldn't resist but to recreate some scenes from the greatest horror movies of all time, with some well known video game characters instead. i'm a very avid horror movie watcher to the point that i have constant nightmares and irrational fears. but i can't help but love them. first up is some sexy time with princess peach. i hope you know what movie it is, and who the killer is! like my 3G pieces, i made the 3-dimensional layered paintings. here is each layer, with the final piece:

VIDEO GAME GORE: 2nd Piece
Hi Guys, here's my second piece for the upcoming show, VIDEO GAME GORE (Brave New Worlds in Philly next Friday night, Oct. 1st). It's another Bioshock illustration, since I just can't get enough.
"Cohen's Girl"
12" x 16"
"A Man Chooses, a Slave Obeys" - Andrew Ryan
This was inspired by the mad artist, Sander Cohen, from the first Bioshock game.
I imagined his fan base before the entirety of Rapture tipped off the deep end.

Video Game Gore!
Here's my piece for Video Game Gore show!
At first I was leaning towards something based on Silent Hill since it was the first horror video game I ever played (and genuinely scared me when I was a kid,) but once I had the idea for a Luigi's Mansion piece I knew I had to go with it, if for no other reason than it seemed like a really unexpected choice. You don't really think of a Mario game when think of horror, and this game in particular was pretty offbeat and received little fanfare. I loved it, but then again I have a weird fondness for secondary characters.
There's some Super Mario World ghost house flavor thrown in as well, just because I liked the idea of using the P switch. The Princess was added to fill the role of obligatory horror movie heroine and give it more of a movie poster feel.

Here is my first completed piece: "My Youth, My Rose"
This piece is 9" x 12". It features a favorite quote of mine from the game, as well as the latin translation for little sister. This was inspired by a scene where a splicer is found weeping and crying out standing over a baby's carriage, that we later discover to be empty aside from a revolver.

Introductions and my VGG Teaser
Hello, I'm matK. I worked with Game, Jeff, Craig, PW! and more at Atomica. I have wanted to participate in the Autumn Society since the 8-Bit Show in philly and just kept putting it off. I'm a graphic designer first, but have always done illustration too. I look up to you guys and the work you do that you do has been an inspiration to push my craft. The recent 3G show started biting me again to join. Jeff told me about the Halloween and Video Games show and that finally pushed me over the edge - I HAD TO PARTICIPATE!
I am happily working on my piece for the Video Game Gore Show - here is a sample from the series so far. I look fwd to meeting you guys online, in person at the hanging next week, and down the road...Comments, advice and hellos are all welcome! Take care.
