I've been making a few new prints lately and with these ones I decided to do a "VERSUS" theme, pretty self-explanatory, but it's fun coming up with new ideas and I've got a whole bunch more lined up...

Masters Of the Universe: Playtime

Hello, my name is Adele K. Thomas and I'm a Melbourne based illustrator working in concept art, character/prop design and layout for animation and children's books! This is my first post for the blog!

Recently I treated myself to the purchase of some Masters of the Universe classic He-man and Skeletor figures. I had always wanted them when I was younger and the nearest I got was a secondhand Mekaneck from a jumble sale at my primary school when I was seven.

Since they are staying in their packaging, this was the next best way to play with them...for now.

This one took way tooooo long to finish but i love it.. it totally brings back memories of my childhood and how much fun it was to use your imagination. thanks He Man!

The Autumn Society presents an exclusive look at Gallery 1988's Under the Influence: Masters of the Universe show, which premiered on January 2010, in LA. Join Chogrin and other MOTU enthusiasts into a really unique gallery filled with 80s nostalgia and amazing artwork. The gallery featured about 100 artists, including the Autumn Society's Danielle Rizzolo, Dave Perillo, Tom Whalen, Jude Buffum, and Chogrin. More exclusives like this throughout the year.

This is my contribution for Gallery 1988's "Under the Influence: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe show. I'm very excited and honored to be part of such an epic show, premiering Friday, January 8th in LA.

He-man and the masters are a big part of my childhood and have influenced me to this very day. From the original Filmation series, the toys, the 1987 live action film, to the 2002 animated series . A big thanks to Lou Scheimer and Mattel for creating this universe in the first place!

In my illustration I decided to finally conclude the epic struggle between He-man & Skeletor. Here's hoping that Bravestarr will get some spotlight in the near future as well. Hope you like and may the power of Castle Grayskull be with you!
