80's Toy Show sneak peak

First of all thanks to all who participated, but thanks especially to Anthony and Ryan for doing most of the hanging work. I made a sort of panoramic composite of the show, which I'm sure will look nicer if you click on it. I look forward to seeing all of you at the opening.

and here's the circus punk i did for the current clowntastrophe show, thanks to paul palcko (whose paintings were AMAZING)

Showdown on Grant Avenue, 3:15PM

This one took way tooooo long to finish but i love it.. it totally brings back memories of my childhood and how much fun it was to use your imagination. thanks He Man!
Special thanks to the guys over at Brave New Worlds. They were so cool cause as always, i was late. They let me sneak it in! Can't wait to come on down friday night and check the show out and buy some comics!

Stormtrooper and MUSCLE for 80's Toys Show

Here are my 2 pieces for the Autumn Society 80's Toys Art Show.

Troops of YesterdayThis painting is based off of the original crappily sculpted Stormtrooper action figure from the Star Wars line. I know the toy initially came out in 1977, but they re-packaged these through the 80's. Ever since I was 3, I was hooked on Star Wars, and after getting the Super Shogun Stormtooper recently, the old toys have been dancing though my head. It's a 2 color stencil, with the background made up of various colors of the black layer.
Terry Bull
This second piece was kind of last minute. I had this weird long canvas, and had the idea to do a toy based off M.U.S.C.L.E., which were these crazy pink Japanese wrestling characters. This guy is Terry Bull, who if I recall was the leader of the bad guys. This was also done with spray paint and stencils. The art show will go from July 2- Aug 4 @ Brave New Worlds in Philly. More info can be found on Facebook.

MONSTER!!!

In honor of the 80's theme show, I present my piece titled "F*ck it, we got a better world under the bed".
Since I was never without my crayola markers in the 80s, I made this with those very same markers, sprung from a box in my folks basement.

Peep more of my crap here.

More than meets the eye...

Robots in disguise...
These are my pieces for the upcoming Autumn Society 80's toy themed show at Brave New Worlds Comics in Philly. The 80's was a glorious decade for toys, It was a time when parents would get into fist fights at 6 in the morning, freezing outside a Kiddie City a week before Christmas so they could grab a preemie Cabbage Patch Kid or a Soundwave Transformer for their little girl or boy, and Santa would get all the credit. I loved my Star Wars and GI Joe toys, but Transformers was awesome & let's face it, Gobots sucked.
